Hong Kong Highlanders Annual AGM 2018/2019

Held at The Hong Kong Club in Central and open to all current members we will review previously held events, decide on upcoming events, the current Fear an Taigh (Chairman) will present a review of the previous year, the previous years accounts will also be presented by the current Treasurer and new members shall be appointed to the Committee. 

We are currently looking for a Membership Secretary and someone for PR/Communication (in other words managing our Facebook and website) so please get in touch if you can assist. 

If any current members have any points to raise at the AGM then please submit these AT LEAST 3 days prior the AGM so they may be included on the agenda.

May Dance

May Dance

The Reel Club will be holding its May Dance at the Garden Room at the Helena May starting at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday 11th May 2019.

 The programme will comprise popular Scottish dances.  The dances will be practiced at the regular Reel Club at the Hong Kong Cricket Club on Monday 6th May starting at 8pm. Please do feel free to bring your friends to this.  Everyone is more than welcome.

Cost: HK$450 for members, HK$550 for non-members, and HK$200 for children (under the age of 12).  This includes a buffet supper.

Drinks –Cash Bar

Dress:  Casual Kilt and Summer Frocks. Soft shoes for dancing or dance in your stockings.

Commemoration of the life of the bard Robert Burns, born on January 25, 1759.

A fine dinner at The Ladies' Recreation Club with; 

The Selkirk Grace, Piping of the Haggis, Address to The Haggis, The Immortal Memory, Toast to the Lassies, Reply on Behalf of The Lassies and possibly a sing song at the end of the evening. Please note; no dancing at this event.

This November we’re planning one of the regular and always-enjoyed events – a Pipes & Drams party. We’ll board an antique tram, and take a two hour ride to Causeway Bay, through Wan Chai, round Happy Valley and back, accompanied by some music and one or two pipers regaling those along the route. BYOB.

We’ll then go for dinner.

Hong Kong Highlanders Junk Trip

When; Saturday 11th August 2018

Where; leave Aberdeen Pier and sail to Po Toi for lunch before sailing around Hong Kong whilst enjoying a speed boat, drinks and small snacks. 

Meeting Point; On Aberdeen Praya/Car Park for Aberdeen Tennis Squash Square and Ocean Court. 

What time; meet at 1045 for 1100 departure. 

Cost; $200 per adult and $100 per child (over 3 years of age). 

Spaces are limited and are first come, first served.
